Wow it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything. Guess I better get on it. I’ll start with my biggest project I had been working on: My Cousin’s Bridal Shower.
Since my cousin and her soon-to-be hubby had been dating since high school, it only seemed fitting to have a High School Sweethearts bridal shower for her. It took a lot of planning and creativity to make this happen. Here are a few of the highlights of the shower and some pics to help tell the story.
My favorite thing about the shower was the cake. I contacted the groom and asked if he could write a note to his bride. But he did one better; he “stole” one of the notes he had written to her in high school. I then had it scanned onto a cake. I love how it turned out.
I had the bride give me some photos of her and the groom through out high school and some mementos from school. We used these as decorations along with some “team spirit” decorations we found online and a few spiral notebooks with some doodles. Yes, one of the mementos was the bride’s varsity cheerleading uniform…tiny isn’t it?
Our favors were personalized pencils that read “H.S. Sweethearts: Casey & Kyle”. We had these scattered out on the tables along with an index card. We had the guests write a special note to the bride and groom, that was later read out loud and placed on a Memo board I made for the couple.
Since the theme was high school sweethearts, we went with a “sweets bar”. A big thanks to my friends at Sweet’s Fudge Kitchen for providing most of the goodies!
I think we had a really good turn out and I hope that the bride enjoyed it. I sure had a lot of fun planning it with all her bridesmaids.
